Description
With support for 12th generation Intel LGA 1700 socket processors, the ASUS PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4 Motherboard proves that you can pack immense power into a compact micro-ATX form factor. The Intel Z690 chipset takes full advantage of the large PCIe 5.0 data bandwidth to handle demanding tasks such as 8K video editing, gaming, 3D modeling, and more. Up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, reaching 5333 MHz when overclocked, can be installed across four memory slots to improve the system’s multitasking capabilities. For storage, there are three PCIe 4.0 M.2 PCIe NVMe solid-state drive slots alongside four SATA III drive headers, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, or 10 configurations for maximum performance. A PCIe 5.0 x16 expansion slot is available for high-end expansions such as dedicated graphics cards. However, installing a CPU with dedicated graphics allows you to connect 4K monitors to the motherboard’s built-in DisplayPort and HDMI ports. A PCIe 4.0 x16 slot is also available in addition to two PCIe 3.0 slots for compatible expansions such as Thunderbolt adapters.
The ASUS PRIME Z690M-PLUS D4’s rear panel features a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port that supports 20 Gb/s transfers with compatible devices along with one 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, four 5 Gb/s USB 3.2 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. You can connect to compatible networks through the built-in Gigabit Ethernet port or install a separately purchased M.2 E-key Wi-Fi adapter for wireless capabilities. Other features include addressable RGB lighting headers and Realtek 7.1-channel surround sound. Windows 10 or 11 64-bit is required to take advantage of all the motherboard’s features.
